Variety with large orange flowers, with a clear center, for herbalism. Flowering is abundant and prolonged. The flowers, in oil, herbal tea or mother tincture are calming.
Marigold or calendula is an edible and repellent annual plant that measures 50 cm in height. Its bright orange flowers appear from April to winter depending on the region.
Young flowers are eaten in salads and jams, and the petals can be used as food coloring for butter, syrups or rice.
A remarkable companion plant, marigold repels whiteflies and aphids.
Sow them in April/May and September directly in place in a warm, sunny location in humus-rich, drained soil. Thin out to 20 cm on the row.
The flowers are harvested at the beginning of their appearance to use them fresh in cooking. As a medicinal plant, the flowers are dried to make tinctures or infusions, which are mainly used in compresses.
Reproducible seeds harvested exclusively in the Pot'à'Jo garden, a horticultural and permaculture market garden of 1500m². Everything is cultivated there with deep respect for nature and their inhabitants. I have been growing my own seeds from seed to seed for years. -
