Piment de Neyde comes from Brazil. It was not born from a planted seed, but is a variety of hot pepper that grew spontaneously in the garden of Mrs. Hidalgo da Neyde, from which it then takes its name.
Features and characteristics:
The Neyde pepper is believed to be a hybrid variety between a Chinese pepper and a purple annuum pepper. This pepper is considered an ornamental plant, with a very distinctive and beautiful appearance. In fact, it can decorate patios and gardens when grown in pots. It resembles a young, branching tree, reaching a height of 1.80 to 3 meters, with a crown and diameter of 1.50 meters, and its color ranges from purple to black.
Its fruit can emit from 100,000 to 200,000 Scoville units.
Open-pollinated seeds harvested exclusively from the Pot'à'Jo garden, a 1500m² market garden combining horticulture and permaculture. Everything is cultivated there with deep respect for nature and its inhabitants. I have been cultivating my own seeds, from seed to seed, for years. -
