One of the hottest chilies in the world, with a fruity, subtly sweet and mellow flavor that gives way to a powerful, gradually building spiciness, culminating in a sustained peak. A must for thrill-seekers!

Formerly considered until 2007 as the hottest chili pepper in the world with its 1,000,000 scoville, it must be handled with care, with gloves, and be careful, the capsaicin which is generally found in and around the seeds of chilies, is also found in the flesh of the Bhut Jolokia, which is not the case for all chilies.

For the record, this chili pepper is a creation, a cross between a West Indian chili pepper (capsicum chinense) and a bird's eye chili pepper (capsicum frutescens), it is what is called a hybrid cultivar.

A plant that grows to a height of one meter and is very productive. It produces about fifty chili peppers, 8 to 10 cm long and 3/4 wide, with a spiciness reaching around 1,000,000 Scoville units. It is a very, very, very hot chili pepper, ideal for sauces and dried into powder.

Open-pollinated seeds harvested exclusively from the Pot'à'Jo garden, a 1500m² market garden combining horticulture and permaculture. Everything is cultivated there with deep respect for nature and its inhabitants. I have been cultivating my own seeds, from seed to seed, for years.
