One of the hottest peppers in the world, with a fruity, subtly sweet and smooth flavor that gradually builds to a powerful spiciness that reaches a lasting peak. Attention all thrill-seekers!
Formerly considered until 2007 as the hottest pepper in the world with its 1,000,000 scoville, it must be handled with care, with gloves, and be careful, the capsaicin which is generally found in and around the seeds of peppers, is also found in the flesh of the Bhut Jolokia, which is not the case with all peppers.
For the record, this pepper is a creation, a cross between a West Indian pepper (capsicum chinense) and a bird's tongue pepper (capsicum frutescens), it is what we call a hybrid cultivar.
A meter-high, very productive plant. It produces about fifty chilies, 8 to 10 cm long and 3/4 wide, with a spiciness of around 1,000,000 scoville. It is a very, very, very hot chili, ideal for sauces and dried into powder.
Reproducible seeds harvested exclusively in the Pot'à'Jo garden, a 1500m² horticultural and permaculture market garden. Everything is grown with a deep respect for nature and its inhabitants. I have been growing my own seeds for years, from seed to seed. -
