It is a unique seasoning from a long Peruvian tradition (qillu uchu), and it is also a beautiful specimen that has its place in the ornamental vegetable garden, where its small 5 to 7 cm peppers with thin, slightly wrinkled walls will shine, changing from green to a luminous lemon yellow, sometimes disguised with a discreet purplish shading. The titillation provided by its judicious level of capsaicin (its spiciness) is combined with a surprising sensation of fruity lemon freshness. A "medium-hot" pepper, between 15,000 and 30,000 on the Scoville scale = comparable power to Tabasco and Serrano peppers
Plants grow between 60 and 90 cm tall and fruits take at least 100 days from transplanting to reach maturity.
Reproducible seeds harvested exclusively in the Pot'à'Jo garden, a 1500m² horticultural and permaculture market garden. Everything is grown with a deep respect for nature and its inhabitants. I have been growing my own seeds for years, from seed to seed. -
